Official News

I have some! I am super-excited to announce that I am now being represented by Jennifer Udden of the Donald Maass Literary Agency. I'm using the pseudonym Lisa Nicholas, which if you know me, you'll know is close to but not quite my legal name. ;) I have an official Twitter here, and the beginnings of an official website here.

What is my life, even.

Honestly, I'm overjoyed to have ANY agent, but DMLA was beyond what I hoped for. They've been my first pick since way back when. And Jen is fantastic. :)

Yeah, you totally don't want "ANY" agent. I have a friend who has "ANY" agent (a fairly reputable one!), and they have been butting heads, and they are on completely different pages about where all this should lead, and...yeah. You want YOUR agent.

Congrats! I was wondering about that name thing when I saw it on Tumblr. Any reason why a pseudonym, if you care to tell?

Couple of reasons, none super major. I'm still leery of having my real name connected to my fandom ID, although I'm really open at work, and it's probably not hard to figure out. Also, there's already a fairly prominent writer with my real name, so I wanted to avoid confusion. And most pragmatically, lisanicholas.com was available. My real name isn't. ;)

Ahhhh. I know several people who plan to use pseudonyms if they ever sell their work because of the fairly prominent writer with the same name issue.

One of many reasons why I'm glad my married name is not so common!
